How it HappenedÂ
- Eight minutes in BC had their first offensive chance as Trey Widrick fired a shot on net that was turned aside by Hossam Aly. The Eagles coped up the rebound and Cole Dunbar had the chance blocked. Bridgewater continued on the attack and Anthony Medrano rifled a shot wide of the cage. The first scoring chance for the Nittany Lions came just minutes later as Jaden Londorn missed wide of the cage. The Eagles flipped the field and Riley Queen had an opportunity as a goal kick from RJ Mackey bounced around and got behind all but one defender. Queen flicked the ball on and got it past the keeper but just missed wide of the cage.
- Penn St.-Harrisburg flipped the field and the momentum after the Queen shot. Right away two Nittany Lions shots found the cage and Mackey stepped up with two saves to keep the game scoreless. BC was able to flip the field in the final five minutes of the half with a pair of shots that were blocked. The Nittany Lions had a chance of their own late but both shots missed the target sending the teams to the intermission knotted at zeroes.
- The Eagles had a free kick just beyond the box in the opening 90 seconds of the second half and Zach Jarvis fired a shot off the kick past the defending wall, but Aly turned it aside. The Nittany Lions flipped the field and created a chance and Kobe Harris fired a shot that got past Mackey but hit the left post and rolled along the goal line before nailing the right post. Daniel Fombu kept the pressure on after winning back the rebound but his shot was saved by Mackey.
- Widrick had two more chances around the 60-minute mark and got two shots off and one on net, but Aly made the save. Dunbar had a real opportunity as a deep ball sent him into eh box with some help. The sophomore corralled the ball and fired a shot to the back of the net, but it was instantly waved off as he used his hand to help corral the pass. The Eagles kept the pressure on down the stretch as Medrano and Elijah Coleman each had decent looks but neither found the back of the net after saves from Aly.
