BRIDGEWATER, Va. -
Daphne Daymude found the back of the cage just 25 seconds into overtime to life the Bridgewater College field hockey team to victory over Juniata at the Jopson Athletic Complex on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first quarter came and went quickly as neither side had any definitive chances with only one shot recorded between the two teams and zero penalty corners.Â
- In the second period, Bridgewater was able to rifle off seven shots with five of those going on frame and forcing the JC goalie into action. Regardless, the game stood scoreless at halftime.Â
- Less than four minutes into the second half, the Screaming Eagles got the first tally of the game off the stick of Miranda Madara with an assist from Sydney Witter. The lead stood for less than three minutes as Amora Marchand knocked in the second goal of her young career to tie the game at 1-1.
- The two goals stood as the only of the contest through the 60 minutes of regulation as the game went into overtime. The Eagles made quick work of the action in extra time as they started the period with possession and quickly went downfield as Daymude grabbed her second goal in as many games to give BC the victory.
MATCH STATS
- Marchand and Daymude scored the lone goals for the Eagles.
- Kylie Amberger led the game with eight shots, including five that went on target. In the fourth quarter, she stood tall with consecutive scoring chances on several straight shots.
- Carynn Klingler also tallied a pair of shots in the game, while Daymude finished with four shots.
- Madalyn Miller picked up the win with two saves on the three she faced. Brittney McMullen was forced to stop eight shots in the loss.
- As a team, Bridgewater held a 17-6 edge in shots, while Juniata had a 12-8 lead in penalty corner opportunities.Â

Bridgewater hits the road for its next three contests. The Eagles return to action on Friday, Sept. 23, at Wooster with a 6 pm start.
