BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- The Bridgewater College women's lacrosse team fell to No. 5 Washington and Lee, 18-5, in ODAC action at the Jopson Athletic Complex on Thursday night.

How It Happened

• The Generals netted the first two goals of the game before Annika Benson broke the ice for the Eagles with a score at the 6:47 mark of the first quarter.
• W&L responded by scoring the game's next four goals to close out the opening period with a 5-1 advantage. 
• Benson scored her second of the contest to start the second half, but the Generals scored seven-straight to take a 13-2 lead at the half.
• The scoring run continued through the third. Kaity Petersheim scored a pair of goals in the fourth quarter, while Lauren Roberts scored off a free position attempt after a yellow card was given to ge tthe Eagles up to five as the Generals moved on to an 18-5 victory.

Match Notes

• Benson and Petersheim led with two goals a piece, while Petersheim added an assist for a three-point evening.
• Roberts recorded a goal and an assist in the loss.
• Rachael Robinson stopped 10 shots and grabbed five ground balls with three caused turnovers. 
• Washington and Lee held a 33-11 edge in shots and a 21-17 advantage in ground balls.
