HOW IT HAPPENED
  • R-MC worked to a 7-3 lead to start the match before extending that to a 12-6 advantage. Bridgewater broke the home side's scoring run and cut the lead down to 17-14, but the Yellow Jackets pulled ahead again. The Eagles had another chance at the end of the set going on a four-point run to narrow the deficit to 22-20, but Randolph-Macon ended the set, 25-22.
  • The second set was much of the same as the first game as the Yellow Jackets earned six of the first 10 points in the frame. R-MC worked that lead out to 15-10 as the Eagles battled back with five-straight points to tie the set capped off by a Kylie Robinson service ace. The home side responded by tying the game back up at 15-15 and stretched its lead back out to 22-17 on its way to a 25-19 set win.
  • Randolph-Macon dominated the final set of the night, starting it off with an 8-1 run. The Eagles never got within six points for the rest of the match as they went down 25-7
