Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's tennis team concluded their fall season on Saturday in the second day of the ITA Southeast Regional hosted by Mary Washington University.
Bridgewater opened the day with back-to-back-to-back doubles matches. In the B1 Draw
Matthew Leonard and
Chase Pullin looked to rebound from their loss the night before but fell to a duo from ODAC for Washington and Lee 1-8.
Mark Gordon and
Gabe Elder too the court next in the B2 Draw taking on a duo from Stevenson. The B2 draw finalists from a year ago came fell 3-8 ending their weekend. Also in the B2 Draw,
Noah Hughes and
Bryce Cline battled Noah Mandel and Ethan Yu from Ursinus College in the consolation quarterfinals. The pair improved upon their match from the day before but came up short 4-8.
BC continued the day with singles action in the afternoon session. Elder took the court first taking on Lukas Sanidas from Stevenson. The two battled much like they did against each other earlier in the day in doubles action but once more the fifth-year senior got the better of Elder 5-8.
Matthew Leonard took the court next against James Earwood of Catholic. The Mechanicsville native was in the match but fell 4-8. The final match of the day for BC came in the Championship Draw consolation round as Pullin dueled with Chaitanya Irkar of Carnegie Mellon. The two were on serve through the first three games but the freshman was not able to hang on falling 1-8.Â
Bridgewater wraps up their fall season after today and will begin their traditional spring season in February.
