BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's basketball team fell to the visiting Maroons of Roanoke College on Monday night in Nininger Hall.

The Basics

How It Happened

• Roanoke stormed out to an early 16-3 lead in the first quarter. The Eagles were able to close the gap to ten at 20-10 to end the first quarter behind four points from Diamond Huskey and a Rosemary Pierson three pointer
• Bridgewater had an answer for the Maroons to start the second quarter, holding Roanoke to zero points within the first five minutes of play to come within three at 20-17. The Eagles offensive production was halted for the remainder of the quarter as the Maroons went on a 10-0 to close the period and enter the break up 30-17
• The Eagles shot 36.4% from the field in the third quarter compared to the Maroons 50.0% as the vistors took a 50-27 advantage 
• Bridgewater outscored Roanoke in the final period 21-20 but would ultimately fall 70-48. Pierson scored nine of her career high 19 points in the fourth quarter while Abby Freeman added a career high five

• Pierson's career high 19 points were also a game high 
• Julia Williams added five points and six rebounds 
• Erika Nettles grabbed seven boards while Melanie Pick had three assists
• Bridgewater outshot Roanoke from behind the arc, successfully converting seven attempts compared to the Maroons two
