LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College Equestrian team competed in its first National Collegiate Equestrian Association meet in its history Sunday, falling to Lynchburg, 3-5.
Hailey Partlow riding Cruz earned a point during flats, as did Emily Nuthall riding Elliot. Bridgewater went into the halfway point of the meet tied 2-2, leading on raw points 269-266.5.
BC earned a point with Caroline Warren riding Ziggy with a score of 76 during fences. The Eagles lost fences 3-1.
Emily Nuthall also was awarded the meets Most Outstanding Player on the Flat.
The meet ended with a 5-3 win for Lynchburg. The Eagles are 0-1 on the season, and will return to action on Nov. 12 vs. Sweet Briar College.
