LYNCHBURG, Va. - Bridgewater jumped out to a 5-0 lead early in Game 3 of its ODAC semifinal series Sunday afternoon, but Lynchburg rallied to defeat the Eagles 7-5 and win the best-of-3 deciding game 7-5.  

Bridgewater scored in the top of the first inning to lead 1-0. With one out, Brett Tharp walked and moved to second on a single by Jeffrey Snider. Tharp broke for third on a delayed steal and scored on a throwing error on the play to put the Eagles on the scoreboard.

The Eagles put four on the scoreboard in the third inning to pad the lead. Jarret Biesecker singled to lead off the inning and moved to second on Tharp's sacrifice bunt. Snider and Kevin Navedo then belted back-to-back triples to make it 3-0. Brandan Hartman followed with a aingle to right, scoring Navedo for a 4-0 lead. Kyle Carlson singled and Jacob Grabeel was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Tanner Montgomery then walked, forcing in the the Eagles' fifth run.

Bridgewater's bats then went silent and the Hornets started chipping a way at the lead. Lynchburg got on the board with two runs in the bottom of the third before single runs in the fourth and sixth innngs made it a one  run game. Lynchburg tied the score with a run in the seventh and then tallied the winning runs in the eighth of a two-run single by PJ Avalos.

Snider reached base safely five times with three hits and a pair of walks and Hartman added two hits for the Eagles.

Bridgewater finishes its season with a 14-15 record.
