BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team stayed undefeated on the season with an 8-1 win Saturday over Emory & Henry on Mapp Courts.
The Eagles, now 6-0 overall, swept the doubles competition, winning three close matches to take a 3-0 lead on Senior Day.
Whitney Kiser and Malena Hoover picked up the first point with an 8-5 victory at the No. 1 slot over Tess Flanigan and Payton Holt. Rachel Crawford and Ali Keister won at No. 2 doubles, defeating Logan Graham and Cailie Pollard 8-6. Emily Daigneault and Ryan Roeber won by the same 8-6 margin at No. 3, downing E&H's Bailey King and Makenzie Mendler.
Crawford was first off the court in singles play with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Graham at No. 3 singles. Kiser scored the clinching point with a 6-1, 6-3 decision over Holt at the No. 1 slot.
Bridgewater swept the bottom half of the ladder to complete the 8-1 victory. At No. 4, Hoover defeated Pollard 7-5, 6-2. Keister rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5 over King. Roeber posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Mendler at the No. 6 position.
