MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Rosemary Pierson and Julia Williams both scored in the double digits as the Bridgewater College women's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to Pfeiffer on the road to conclude 2021.

How It Happened

• Pfeiffer held an early 6-2 lead before baskets by Erika Nettles and Williams tied the contest with five minutes remaining in the first quarter. Neither team led by more than three points until Diamond Huskey made a layup with one second on the clock to put Bridgewater up 18-14 at the end of the frame
• The second quarter followed suit of the first until a Reagan Maynard steal gave Williams an open look to the basket to put the Eagles up by four with two minutes remaining. Two successful Pierson free throws and an Erika Nettles layup gave the Eagles the 36-33 edge heading into the locker room
• Bridgewater led the Falcons 52-39 before a 13-2 run by Pfeiffer put the home team back within two at 54-52
• The teams played point-for-point to start the fourth until Pfeiffer took a seven-point advantage with just under four minutes to go. Bridgewater could not overcome costly turnovers in the final minutes, ultimately falling 74-64

• Pierson tied her career high with 15 points to go with four rebounds
• Williams also tied her career high with 13 points
• Jaden Alsberry contributed nine points, 14 rebounds and two blocks
• Nettles and Diamond Huskey both grabbed six boards
• Mary Ruth Shifflett and Maynard posted two assists each
