BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's basketball team was victorious against crosstown rival Eastern Mennonite on Wednesday night in Nininger Hall.

• Final Score: Bridgewater 74, Eastern Mennonite 35
• Records: Bridgewater (3-3, 2-0 ODAC), Eastern Mennonite (3-4, 0-2 ODAC)
• Bridgewater has now won three straight contests and remains perfect in ODAC play

How It Happened 

• The Eagles open the game with defensive statement, holding the Royals scoreless until the final two minutes of the quarter
• Bridgewater outscored EMU 22-3 in the second quarter to enter the half up 34-10. Mary Ruth Shifflett grabbed four of her six total rebounds in the frame
• Rosemary Pierson scored all of her career-high 11 points in the second half as the Eagles continued to keep their foot on the gas pedal
• All 17 Eagles that entered the contest contributed to the stat line as Bridgewater's defensive prowess and relentless offense held on for the win

Match Notes

• This is Bridgewater's fourth straight win over their crosstown rival
• Jaden Alsberry once again shined for the Eagles, contributing 15 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks for an all-around performance
• Erika Nettles also continued to put up big numbers, scoring 15 points to go with nine rebounds and two steals
• Diamond Huskey went a perfect 4-4 from the field
• Rookie Kelsie Huffman added five steals, pushing her season total to 21 and the top spot in the conference for the statistic 
• Bridgewater outshot EMU from the field 45.0% to the Royals 19.6% while outrebounding the Royals 50-37
