BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's basketball team fell to Division II independent Emory & Henry 57-51 on Saturday night in Nininger Hall.

How It Happened

• Emory & Henry led 12-5 in the first quarter before an Erika Nettles layup and two made Reagan Maynard freethrows brought the Eagles back within three at 12-9
• Bridgewater had their best offensive quarter in the second frame, putting up 19 points while defensively causing seven Wasp turnovers to enter the half up 28-25
• The Wasps came back to make it 39-38 heading into the final quarter
• Emory & Henry went up 50-43 before back-to-back threes from Rosemary Pierson and Julia Williams brought the Eagles within three at 52-49
• After trading jump shots, Bridgewater found themselves down three 54-51 with less than two minutes to play. Now forced to foul, the Eagles could not make up the difference, ultimately falling 57-51

Match Notes

• Nettles and Jaden Alsberry once again led Bridgewater with 13 points a piece to go with seven and eight rebounds, respectively 
• Williams added seven buckets while Mary Ruth Shifflett had four rebounds and three steals
• Kelsie Huffman was all over the Wasps, totaling seven steals
