LYNCHBURG, Va. – A dominant third quarter carried the Bridgewater College women's basketball team past Lynchburg on the road Saturday, as the Eagles kept pace at the top of the ODAC with a 79-73 victory.

Madison Baum racked up 34 points after going 3-of-4 from behind the arc and getting to the line 18 times. She also added seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.

The Hornets held the Eagles to just five points over the opening 6:39 of the fourth quarter to get back to within single digits, but Bridgewater made free throws down the stretch to close it out.

The Eagles had jumped out to a 5-0 lead after Kayla Darr opened the scoring with a three-pointer and Makayla Johnson followed with a basket off a Darr steal.

Bridgewater led 17-15 a minute into the second quarter on a Moone triple, but Lynchburg opened up a nine-point advantage midway through the period that was capped by a Lizzie Davis trey.
