BRIDGEWATER, Va. – A shorthanded Bridgewater College women's lacrosse team lost 16-5 to Shenandoah on Wednesday in ODAC action.

Kristen Stark had two goals and two assists to lead the Eagles, while Anna O'Hara scored twice.

Shenandoah's Alyson Bittinger won the game's first four draw controls and the Hornets controlled the first six. The seventh however went to Sarah Yashinskie, which set a new BC program career mark with 155.

Stark opened the scoring with a spin move from behind the cage. Grace Stang then caused a turnover on a free position shot before Emma Stiffler could get the attempt off, and Stark assisted O'Hara at the other end for a 2-1 Eagles lead.

The Hornets ran off six unanswered goals to go up 7-2. Stang then broke up a 4-on-2 rush and Yashinskie scored at the other end to make it 7-3 Shenandoah.

Shenandoah had a 7-on-5 opportunity after two Eagle yellow cards in quick succession, and Natalie Nichols and Bittinger each scored man-up goals with assists on both coming from Jordyn Miller.

Shenandoah's Cassie Arndt hit the post early in the second half, one of three pipes the visitors would hit in the period. They kept possession however and Nikki Zerna scored to make it 11-5.

The Eagles, who were playing without several starters, tired late after a solid start and did not record a goal in the second half. Bridgewater was also just 6-of-14 on clears in the final 30 minutes.

Mikaela Brooks made 10 saves in the cage for the Eagles.

Bridgewater (3-10, 2-3 ODAC) will travel to Guilford on Saturday at 4 p.m.
