ASHLAND, Va. – A scoreless first half cost the Eagles, as the Bridgewater men's lacrosse team lost 12-5 at Randolph-Macon on Saturday.

The Eagles held a 6-3 first half advantage on faceoffs and had all three man-up opportunities in the opening 30 minutes, but totaled only four shots on goal and went into the break trailing 7-0. The Yellow Jacket defense racked up 11 caused turnovers in the opening half- led by three for Cole Abid.

The Eagles did strike on the man-advantage early in the third, with Justin Calabrese's power play goal following an Eric Husselbaugh tally that made it 7-2.

The Yellow Jackets responded with two of their own, including a man-up goal by Andrew Tiffey, to restore a seven-goal gap at 9-2.

The Eagles got as close as five again in the third quarter with two straight Sean MacLeish goals that made it 9-4 RMC.

Both teams would ultimately score four in the third quarter and once in the fourth. RMC's Camden Stramanak's fourth quarter goal was matched by a man-up tally by Connor McLean.

MacLeish finished with two goals and an assist, while Husselbaugh and McLean had a goal and an assist each.

Mason Gauntt won 9-of-14 faceoffs and picked up a game-high six ground balls. Hunter Bagby made eight saves in the cage.

Chris Cerrina made 14 saves for Randolph-Macon as the Eagles would hold a 15-7 advantage in shots on goal in the second half. BC also did not have a failed clear and only turned the ball over five times in the final 30 minutes.

Bridgewater is 7-4, 0-4 ODAC and will travel to Shenandoah on Wednesday looking for an important conference victory.
