Eagles Conclude Regular Season With Senior Day Win

Box Score

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's lacrosse team wrapped up the regular season with an 18-4 win over Randolph on Senior Day.

The Eagles got six points from both Shannon Rogers (two goals, four assists) and Sarah Yashinskie (three goals, three assists), while Dwyer Neal scored four times. Anna O'Hara and Kristen Stark each added three goals and an assist.

Two BC players were recognized on Senior Day including Kayla O'Sullivan, who had five caused turnovers and seven draw controls- setting a new school career record in the latter category. Senior Erica Blubaugh totaled three draw controls and a ground ball.

O'Sullivan's record draw control was the 150th of her career and came with 19:27 left in the game. She got positioning on Sarah Perry and was fouled by the WildCat who was battling for draws and loose balls throughout the game with O'Sullivan.

Rogers assisted Yashinskie on two of the opening three goals as Bridgewater jumped out to a 3-0 lead. They then went down and scored again 14 seconds later, with Jacqueline DiFulvio finding Neal.

Stark hit Rogers with a great feed all the way across the area to make it 7-0 after 10:15 played. Rogers then paid it forward with a nice pass to Yashinkie for BC's eighth of the day.

O'Hara scored from Molly Lynch's assist to make it a double-digit lead at 10-0.

With three minutes left in the first half, DiFulvio forced a turnover behind the cage on the clear and hit a cutting Rogers to make it 12-1 Bridgewater at the break.

Bridgewater struck shorthanded with 21 minutes left in the game on another failed clear. Yashinskie took away a pass and then found Neal to make it 14-1.

Randolph was led by Maddie Peters' five caused turnovers, while Chrissy Shackleford made 12 saves in the cage.

Bridgewater finishes the regular season with a mark of 11-5, 4-4 ODAC. The Eagles will be the #5 seed in the ODAC playoffs for a second straight year, and travel Shenandoah on Wednesday for the quarterfinals.
