HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Bridgewater men's tennis team picked up its second win of the weekend with a 6-3 verdict Sunday over Baldwin Wallace University.
The Eagles won two doubles matches to take an early lead and then added wins in four of the six singles matches.
Bridgewater picked up a key point at No. 1 doubles where Joe Dillenbeck and Josh Rodgers held off Dominic Polifrone and Matt Harris 9-7.
The Yellow Jackets won a close match at No. 2 as Nathan Katz and Jake Liebler edged Kyle Hartfield and Thomas Rishcoff, 8-6.
Bridgewater's Freddie Roberts and Nathaniel Horner rolled past Brian Carano and Jake Elbin to take the No. 3 doubles by a score of 8-1.
The Eagles clinched the match by winning the No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches.
Dillenbeck defeated Katz in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 to take the No. 2 flight and Rishcoff stopped Harris 7-6 (11-9), 6-2at No. 3 singles.
Horner took the win at No. 5 with a 6-3, 6-4 margin over Liebler and Emmett Johnson scored the final point at No. 6, defeating Elbin 6-7 (2-7), 6-4 and 10-7 in a tiebreaker to decide the match.
Polifrone defeated Hartfield 6-3, 6-3 to win at No. 1 for Baldwin Wallace and Carano defeated Roberts 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles for the Yellow Jackets' final point.
