Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. – Marymount controlled possession for the entire overtime period, defeating the Eagles 11-10 in OT on Monday evening.
Marymount's Natalie Tinkham won the draw control in overtime and the Saints held onto it until the final minute of the opening extra period, with Abby Wescott recording the game winner.
Senior Annie Sullivan scored four times for the Eagles, with Kristen Stark adding two goals and an assist. Kayla O'Sullivan totaled seven draw controls, three ground balls, two caused turnovers and an assist.
After going down 3-0, Bridgewater ran off seven unanswered goals.
Sullivan got the Eagles on the board with 17:08 left in the first, and Dwyer Neal and Sarah Yashinskie struck 55 seconds apart to the game at 3-all.
Stark assisted Sullivan for the lead, then scored for a 5-3 advantage. Shannon Rogers made it 6-3 at halftime.
Trailing 7-4, Marymount scored on three straight shots to tie the game. After Kellen Cannon made it 7-6, she won the ensuing draw control and went right down the field, getting a shooting space call and scoring on the free position shot to tie.
The game was still tied with exactly four minutes remaining when Sullivan took a pass from Claire Palermo-Re and drove down the left side to make it 10-9. Bridgette Stacom answered for Marymount however.
Jessica Crew had a chance to win at the buzzer, driving past a defender from the left side, but the contested shot was deflected away by Rachel Gruber (12 saves).
Early on, the Eagles had been denied by several pipes as Marymount claimed a first half advantage. Neal hit the crossbar in the third minute of action with the game scoreless, and Stark rattled the post with 10 minutes left in the half.
Bridgewater is 4-2 overall and will play Meredith on Wednesday in a neutral site game at Ferrum College.
