BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's lacrosse team erased a late deficit for the second straight game, but this time fell 10-9 in overtime to visiting Randolph-Macon.

A week after erasing a three-goal deficit in the fourth quarter to beat ODAC playoff contender Virginia Wesleyan, the Eagles scored the final four goals of regulation to cancel out a 9-5 deficit vs. the Yellow Jackets.

Bridgewater killed off a 30-second penalty in overtime, but right after it cleared Coleman Adams found Ryan Davidson for the game-winner.

It spoiled another good penalty kill for a Bridgewater team that had several throughout the contest. With the Eagles trailing 6-2 in the second quarter, their defense locked things down and helped BC get back into the contest.

Facing a one-minute non-releasable power play, Bridgewater didn't show a good look inside and the 60 seconds expired. Lucas Clark came charging in and dispossessed the Yellow Jacket attackman from behind, and Bridgewater broke the other way to score through Sean MacLeish.

Clark pounced on another turnover man-down and hit Chris Voorhees for the shorthanded goal later in the second quarter to bring the Eagles within one.

The Marlins scored to take an 8-5 lead in the third quarter and got a one-minute slashing penalty on top of it. After Benjamin Vayer was called for another slash on the faceoff, Nick Sherman, Sean Nevin, Curtis Hughes and Aaron Kiser killed off the entire 6-on-4 only for Davidson to score seconds after the teams were even again (just as he would later for the game-winner).

Andrew Buss made 18 saves in the cage for Bridgewater. Clark finished with three caused turnovers and four ground balls, and Nevin forced two turnovers.

Voorhees and Blake Mann each had two goals and one assist to lead the attack, while MacLeish scored twice.

Bridgewater did not allow a goal over the final 21:02 of regulation and rallied from a 9-5 deficit. MacLeish got the run started late in the third quarter and Steven Cosgrove made it a two-goal game early in the fourth.

Tylden Mosby and Mann followed to tie the game, and the Eagles even had the final possession but couldn't get a great look against RMC goalie Brian Davies (12 saves).

BC leading goalscorer Mann hit Voorhees with a great pass to the far doorstep for his first assist of the year, getting Bridgewater on the board in the first quarter. Voorhees returned the favor later that period with a nice assist to Mann.

Bridgewater falls to 6-4, 1-2 ODAC, while RMC is 3-8, 2-2 on the year.
