HILTON HEAD, S.C - Bridgewater College won its first women's tennis match of the spring season with a 6-3 victory Wednesday over Arcadia.
The Eagles dropped two points via default at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
Bridgewater won matches at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
At No. 1 doubles, Bridgewater's Stephanie Barton and Whitney Cash downed Allyson Naiken and Kayla Haberbosch 8-2. Ashley Price and Shannon Quinn won by the same score at No. 2 over Arcadia's Julia Lunavictoria and Sarah Hanley.
The Eagles closed out the victory by winning four of the five contested singles matches.
Barton got the Eagles started with a win at No. 1 by defeating Naiken 6-2, 6-1. Price rolled to a victory at No. 2, stopping Lunavictoria 6-1, 6-0.
Cash defeated Janelle Bradley 6-0, 6-0 to win at No. 3 and Quinn downed Haberbosch 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
Arcadia won the No. 5 singles flight as Nicole Shulman defeated BC's Haley Lloyd 6-2, 6-2.
