BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College improved to 12-3-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the ODAC with a 13-0 victory in women's soccer action Saturday over Hollins University.
The Eagles scored twice in the first two minutes of action and never looked back. Keri Rager scored her ninth goal of the season to put Bridgewater on the board and Baily Kratz scored 50 seconds later, making the score 2-0. Isabella Krider added the assist on the Kratz goal - her ODAC leading 10th assist of the season.
Krider and Kratz switched roles on the next goal with Krider scoring the goal to make it 3-0. Senior forward Kelly Patterson scored on Senior Day with Kratz getting her secord assist for a 4-0 Bridgewater lead.
Isabella Weigel and Bridget Fabiani scored goals before Patterson's second goal of the half put the Bridgewater lead at 7-0. Weigel's goal was her team-leading 10th of the season.
Goals by Amanda Cantor and Bailey Bingham closed out the first half scoring with the Eagles going to the break with a 9-0 lead. Eagles' forward Anna Sobus recorded an assist on the final three goals of the first half.
Krider scored her second goal of the game to open the second half and a goal by Morgan Todd pushed the lead to 11-0. Gabriella Kirk and Sobus scored the final two goals for the final 13-0 margin.
The Eagles held Hollins without a shot attempt. Freshman goalkeeper Alyssa Pearson ran her record to 2-0 with her second shutout of the season. The shutout was the 10th this season for the Eagles.
The goals by Cantor, Kirk, Bingham and Todd were the first of their careers.
Sobus set a new single-game record with her four assists.
The Eagles are back in action Wednesday evening when they travel to Winchester for a key game against Shenandoah. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
