VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The women's tennis season came to an end for Bridgewater College in the ODAC semifinal round as the Eagles were eliminated by the top seed, Washington and Lee, 5-0.

The Generals won all three doubles matches by the same 8-0 score. W&L's Sonja Meigan and Patricia Kirkland defeated Maria Hawkins and Marla O'Bryan at No. 1. At No. 2 Brooke Donnelly and Meghan Buell blanked Shannon Quinn and Ashley Price. Kelsey Vella and Michelle Fleenor won the No. 3 match over BC's Whitney Cash and Haley Lloyd.

W&L closed out the match with victories at No. 4 and No. 5 singles.

Kirkland defeated Price 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 while Mary Elizabeth Shutley ousted Cash 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5.

The remainder of the singles matches were not finished.

W&L, ranked No. 4 in the nation and No. 2 in the region, improves to 22-4 and advances to the ODAC title match.

The Eagles finish the season with a 9-8 record.
