BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College defeated Lynchburg by a score of 7-2 Saturday afternoon in ODAC women's tennis action played on Mapp Courts.

The Eagles wom all seven matches that were contested. Lynchburg's points came at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles where the Eagles defaulted the matches.

The Eagles gained their first point at No. 1 doubles. Maria Hawkins and Marla O'Bryan held a 1-0 lead when their opponents defaulted.

At No. 2 doubles, Whitney Cash and Haley Lloyd blanked Catherine So and Chloe Fisher 8-0.

Hawkins rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles over Drinkard while O'Bryan defeated So 6-1, 6-0.

Cash took a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles over Fisher and Leanne Smithers turned back Jerica Simmons 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4.

In the closest singles match, Bridgewater's Lloyd held off Kelsey Dowling 6-4, 6-4.
