Box Score

BRIDGEWATER, Va. –
Seniors recorded all seven goals for Bridgewater as the Eagles' field hockey team celebrated Senior Day with a 7-1 victory over Bethany College.

Taylor Prillaman had a hat trick, reaching the 50-goal milestone for her career. Rachael Loy had two goals and an assist, with fellow senior Sarah Rozell adding two assists.

The Eagles' senior class struck for two goals a span of 49 seconds early on.

Loy passed to Prillaman, who dribbled around the goalkeeper and scored with 28:55 on the clock. Bridgewater came right down again after the restart and Allison Kirk scored inside the near post.

Sophomore Elizabeth Washington nearly added another a minute later, but missed the near post with Bethany goalkeeper Courtney Snyder beaten.

Prillaman would make it 3-0 in the 16th minute of play, beating a defender and slipping her shot past Snyder.

Bethany got one back later in the first half with Selena Vieira knocking in a Taylor Solomon cross from the right side.

Prillaman's 50th goal came in the second half off a pass from Washington.

Loy made it 5-1 with just under 14 minutes to go, scoring from outside off Rozell's corner insert. She soon scored again from long range for a 6-1 BC lead.

With 1:14 remaining, senior Ashley White recorded her first career goal off a penalty corner- again with an assist by Rozell.

Snyder finished with 24 saves, including 18 in the second half.

Bethany was awarded a penalty stroke at the other end as time expired, but put the shot over the crossbar.

Loy, Prillaman, Alenka Ferrufino, White, Rozell, Kirk and Caroline Fletcher comprise one of the most successful classes in program history, with the group now having won 41 games and currently featuring a 20-7 mark in conference play.

The group has made a combined 314 starts and scored 102 goals, including an impressive 27 game-winning goals in the 71 total contests they have played in.

Bridgewater improves to 6-7 overall and will travel to Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday.
