Zach Hynes struck out for the second out and then Miller picked pinch-runner Tyler Dawson off at first base to end the game.
Dillon Via took the loss despite pitching three strong innings. Via allowed one unearned run on two hits. Petock was the only Eagles hitter with multiple hits as he finished 2-for-4.

The margin didn't last long as the Eagles answered with two runs in their half of the first. Fulk led off with a single and then stole second. Bryan Sanderson walked to put two runners on but a fielder's choice grounder by Petock left runners at first and third with two outs. Howell came through with the clutch hit as his double to the gap in left center was good for two RBIs and a 2-1 Eagles lead.
Bridgewater padded its lead with single runs in the fourth and fifth. Tyler Hoffman walked to lead off the fourth and a hit-and-run single to right by Cavin Clyde moved Hoffman to third. Hoffman scored on Fulk's grounder to short, giving the Eagles a 3-1 lead.

Lynchburg threatened to put together a big inning against Gallet in the eighth. With one out Parsons and pinch-hitter Andrew Gauvain lined consecutive singles. Both runners moved up on a wild pitch and Parsons scored on a groundout by Tanner, pulling Lynchburg to within 4-2. With Gallet well past the 100-pitch mark, Joe Tomasulo singled to put runners at first and third, ending the day for Gallet. Bridgewater coach Curt Kendall summoned Ryan Leake to the mound and the lefty struck out Caldwell to end the Hornets threat and preserve Bridgewater's 4-2 lead.
