LEXINGTON, Va. - In the season opener for the Bridgewater College women's tennis team, the Eagles fell to the perennial power Generals of Washington and Lee by a 9-0 tally in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.

The doubles duo of Katie Gordon and Katy Bergey lost in top flight doubles action by an 8-4 tally before the tandem of Ally McConaughy and Emily Schweitzer fell by an 8-0 margin at number two doubles.

In the final doubles set, the duo of Brittany Wilson and Olivia Stone fell by an 8-1 tally to put the Eagles in a 3-0 hole after doubles play.

Washington and Lee won the first two singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 tallies, as Gordon and Bergey fell in No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

Wilson also got blanked by a 6-0, 6-0 tally before the Eagles took a game at number four doubles in Stone's 6-1, 6-0 defeat. McConaughy fell by a 6-0, 6-0 tally at number five before Schweitzer fell by a 6-1, 6-1 margin at number six to round out the match.

Bridgewater is back in action on March 3 at N.C. Wesleyan. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
