Box Score HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. - Hampden-Sydney College handed the Eagles a 87-62 loss Wednesday evening in ODAC hoops action.
The Tigers shot 43 percent from the field and owned the backboards by a 62-33 margin against the Eagles depleted frontcourt. Bridgewater played without frontcourt players Daniel McClain, Romie Powell and David Larson. The Eagles also played without their leading scorer Cody Griffith.
Bridgewater stayed within striking distance for most of the first half and trailed by just five, 33-28, when Ed Reddick hit a pair of free throws with 5:02 left to play.
The Tigers then took control, outscoring the Eagles 16-1 during the final five minutes to take a 49-29 lead at the half.
Reddick and Aaron Adams paced the Eagles with 12 points each and Tavis Stapleton added 10 points. Ronnie Thomas contributed nine points and a team high six rebounds and five assists.
Ben Jessee led four Tigers in double figures with 18 points.
The Eagles, 5-15, 2-9 in in the ODAC, return to action Saturday afternoon when they host Lynchburg College.
