Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Bridgewater's offense came to life in the second half Wednesday afternoon as the Eagles scored three times in the final 45 minutes to defeat Randolph-Macon, 3-0, in a key ODAC matchup.
With the victory the Eagles improved to 10-5-1 overall and 7-3-1 in the ODAC. The Yellow Jackets dropped to 9-5 overall and 7-3 in the conference standings.
The Eagles held a 7-2 edge in shots in the first half but were unable to find the net.
The Eagles broke the scoreless deadlock early in the second half when Brittney Harris scored an unassisted goal at the 46:09 mark to put Bridgewater on the board.
It stayed a one goal game until the 71st minute when Ashley Crossman scored with her left foot with a shot to the lower right corner after a deflection in the box.
Bridgewater scored its final goal in the 77th minute when Abby Dehoff's free kick was saved by the Yellow Jackets keeper, but Julia Baca possessed the rebound and scored to make the final 3-0.
Bridgewater goalie Krista Kelly finished with three saves to record the shutout.
The Eagles return to action Saturday afternoon with a non-conference game at Mary Washington. Mary Washington defeated the Eagles 5-4 in double-overtime earlier this season. Saturday's game will start at 1 p.m.
