Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. - Washington and Lee kept its record unblemished with a three-game sweep Tuesday evening of the Bridgewater College Eagles.
The Eagles traded points with W&L early in the first game, but with the scored tied at 5-5, the Generals scored 10 straight points to take control on the way to a 25-12 victory.
Bridgewater jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second game on an attack error by the Generals and an ace by BC's Lauren Johnson (Charlotte, N.C./Providence)
The Eagles battled the Generals on even terms early as a kill by Katie Baker (Strasburg, Va./Strasburg) tied the score at 8-8 and a kill be Johnson kept it tied at 9-9.
W&L then forged ahead with a 7-1 spurt to take a 16-10 lead.
The Eagles pulled to within four, 23-19, on a kill by Baker before the Generals tallied the final two points on a BC service error and an ace by W&L's Meghan Meleski.
The Generals closed out the match with a 25-10 win in the third game.
Baker led the Eagles with sxi kills and Johnson finished with 11 assists. Mara Hogan (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Ashby) led the Eagles with seven digs.
W&L is now 13-0 overall and 4-0 in the ODAC. The Eagles fall to 7-4, 1-2 in the ODAC.
Bridgewater is back in action this weekend when the Eagles travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., for the Carnegie Mellon Invite.
