Box Score Senior Leslie Crawford scored five goals to lead the Eagles to a 17-11 ODAC win over the visiting Vixens of Sweet Briar.
Sweet Briar got on the board first when Sarah Winstead scored. The Eagles responded a minute later when Savannah Key found the back of the net. SBC's Jessie Edington then scored to give the Vixens a 2-1 lead. From that point, Bridgewater controlled play scoring the next seven goals to SBC's one. The Eagles took a 9-5 lead into the half.
The Vixens scored early into second half play but BC responded with two quick goals to push the lead to five, 11-6. SBC cut the lead to four, 11-7 but Taylor Chamberlain scored off an assist from Megan Bach to give the Eagles a 12-7 lead with 23:03 left in the game. The Vixens cut the lead to 12-9 off goals by Edington and DJ Abernathy. Two goals by BC's Katie Freeman and goals by Chamberlain and Megan Bach gave the Eagles a 16-9 lead. The Vixens Winstead and Seanne Weekes scored the final two goals for SBC and Freeman scored with :04 left to give the Eagles a 17-11 victory.
Chamberlain had four goals on the day while Caitlin Costello and Bach each added two. Key also scored a goal for the Eagles, while Aili Knapp contributed three assists on the afternoon.
The win improves the Eagles to 6-8 overall and 3-4 in ODAC play. Bridgewater returns to action on Saturday, when they will face the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan.
