BRIDGEWATER, Va. – In ODAC men's tennis action at the BC Tennis Courts, the Bridgewater Eagles men's tennis team controlled play throughout the afternoon en route to a 7-2 victory over the visiting Virginia Wesleyan Marlins.
Senior Brad DeWitt and Teddy Callow teamed up for an 8-4 victory at number one, before Brent Floyd and Peter Hawkins rolled to an 8-3 win at number two.
Virginia Wesleyan's lone doubles win came by a tight 9-8 (8-3) margin at number three.
Bridgewater got things off to a good start in singles action when Hawkins earned a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at number one.
DeWitt kept things going with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at number two, while Floyd earned an easy 6-0, 6-2 win at number three.
At number four, Callow earned a grueling three-set win by a 5-7, 6-1, 14-12 margin, before Tim Gower posted a 7-6 (6-2), 6-1 win at number five.
Virginia Wesleyan earned its lone singles win of the day with a 6-2, 602 win at number six.
Bridgewater is back in action on Wednesday, March 30 when the Eagles host Lynchburg.
