Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. - Guilford College pulled away in the second half Saturday to defeat Bridgewater College 18-6 in ODAC women's lacrosse action.
The Eagles hung tough for a half, trailing 9-4, but the Quakers controlled play and outscored the Eagles 9-2 in the second half to take the 18-6 victory.
The Quakers scored the game's first three goals before the Eagles got on the board when Taylor Chamberlain scored on a free position shot.
Guilford scored two straight to lead 5-1 before Bridgewater answered with two goals of its own, Chamberlain scored off an assist from Jenny Logan and Megan Bach scored on a free position shot to trim the deficit to 5-3.
The Quakers then scored four unanswered goals, two by Shannon Kandola to lead 9-3. Bach scored off and assist from Elizabeth Blake to close out the first half scoring.
Bach scored again to open the second half, but the Eagles went scoreless for almost seven minutes and Quakers opened up a 13-5 lead. Bach scored again for the Eagles, but Guilford scored the game's final five goals to close out the victory.
Bach led the Eagles with four goals and Chamberlain added two. Aili Knapp led BC with five ground balls and Caitlin Costello contributed three draw controls.
The Eagles now 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the ODAC. Guilford improves to 2-5, 1-0 in the conference.
