BRIDGEWATER, Va. – At the BC Tennis Courts, the Bridgewater Eagles women's tennis team jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play before cruising to a 7-2 victory over the visiting Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets in an ODAC clash.
Bridgewater claimed doubles victories at numbers one and three to jump out to an early advantage over the Yellow Jackets before things turned to singles play.
In singles action, the Eagles earned victories at number one, two and three, before winning at number five and six to pick up a 7-2 win.
Katie Gordon was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at number one, while fellow freshman Katy Bergey picked up a 6-1, 6-0 at number two.
At number three, Ally McConaughy was a 7-5, 6-1 victor, before the Eagles dropped a 6-4,6-2 decision at number four.
Finally, Brittany Wilson was a 7-5, 6-3 winner at number four, prior to sophomore Amanda Gorby's 6-1, 6-1 triumph at number six.
Bridgewater is back in action on Sunday when the team travels to Averett.
