Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Jonathan Mason belted a pair of homers and Tyler Milstead pitched seven strong innings Wednesday to lead Bridgewater College to a 10-1 victory over Eastern Mennonite in ODAC baseball action.
The Eagles scored all the runs they would need in the bottom of the first inning.
Devon Snow led off with a double and Kevin Kirk walked. Brett Howell then singled, scoring Snow with the first run of the game. Mason drove in a run with a single and Jay Thompson plated a run with a sacrifice fly, making the score 3-0.
The Eagles took advantage of a pair of infield errors to score two runs in the fifth and Mason belted a two-run homer in the sixth for a 7-0 Bridgewater lead. Mason added a three-run blast in the seventh to complete the Bridgewater scoring.
Milstead worked seven innings, allowing one run on six hits. He struck out two and walked one batter. Milstead lost his shutout in the seventh on a two-out single by EMU's Jake Norman. Dustin Arrowood finished up on the mound for the Eagles with two scoreless innings of relief.
Snow was 4-for-5 for the Eagles while Mason was 3-for-4 with six RBIs.
The Eagles are now 10-9 overall and 5-0 in the ODAC. The Royals are 6-14, 1-6 in the conference.
The Eagles are back in action tomorow when they travel to Winchester to meet Shenandoah. D3baseball.com ranked Shenandoah No. 2 in the nation in this week's Division III Top 25 poll.
