Box Score 2 VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Bridgewater College baseball team snapped its four-game losing streak Sunday afternoon by sweeping a doubleheader from Virginia Wesleyan.
The Eagles won the first game 10-5 and then took the second game 5-2.
In the opener, Joseph Lucas hurled eight solid innings to pick up the win. He allowed all five runs, four earned, and gave up five hits while striking out three.
Brett Howell was 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the offense. Jake Wade was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Jonathan Mason and Andrew Hacker were both 2-for-4.
In the second game, Kevin Chander worked 8.1 innings to get the victory. Chandler allowed nine hits and two earned runs while striking out four.
Wade was 2-for-4 with a run batted in and Zach Hynes was 2-for-3 with one run batted in.
With the victory, the Eagles are now 9-9 overall and 4-0 in the ODAC. Bridgewater is one of just two teams still undefeated in conference play. Randolph-Macon is 6-0 in the ODAC.
