BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Bridgewater College senior guard Jordan Burkholder was named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week following an outstanding week on the hardwood which saw her set a new career scoring standard.
Burkholder was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday for her stellar play last week.
The Bridgewater, Va. native was outstanding on Tuesday night against Eastern Mennonite, as the senior drained 8-of-16 shots from the field and was 14-of-14 from the stripe to lead the Eagles offense with 30 points on the night.
On Friday night in Lynchburg, Burkholder survived a slow start before knocking in six of her last nine shots, including a layup with 11:15 to play with put her atop the career scoring list with her 1,600th career point. On the week, Burkholder recorded a dozen steals as well.
Burkholder leads the ODAC in scoring, averaging 19.2 points per game and leads the nation in steals per game with 5.3.
Burkholder's Team of the Week selection is the second such selection for a Bridgewater player this season.
Burkholder and the Eagles are back in action on Tuesday night when Roanoke comes to Nininger Hall. Tip-off against the Maroons is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
