Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College scored on its first four shots of the game Wednesday and the Eagles went on to post a 5-2 ODAC victory over Randolph-Macon.
Bridgewater scored early when Melanie Waters (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake Senior) found the net from in close off an assist from Mari Marotta (Clifton, Va./Centreville), giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute.
Waters scored again at the 10:48 mark with Anna Theisen (Clarksville,, Md./River Hill) recording the assist for a 2-0 lead.
Theisen made it 3-0 in the 15th minute when she took a nice touch from Marotta to find the back of the net.
Theisen recorded her second assist when she put a pass on the right foot of Meghan Groos (Linden, Va./Warren County) and the BC senior beat the Jackets keeper from 20 yards out for a 4-0 Eagles lead.
Randolph-Macon made things interesting with two goal in just more than one minute.
Megan Calabrese scored on a penalty kick at the 59:31 and Erin Hauser scored from close range off a pass from Erin Hauser at the 60:48 mark to pull the Yellow Jackets to within two,
The Eagles regianed control when Marotta scored in the 67th minute for the final 5-2 margin.
Bridgewater held a 13-7 edge in shots. Eagles keeper Cari Hensley (Danville, Va./George Washington) finished with three saves.
The Eagles improved to 9-3 overall and 4-2 in the ODAC. Randolph-Macon dropped to 5-4-1 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
