BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College opened conference play Saturday afternoon and the Eagles shut out the Emory & Henry College Wasps, 1-0.

The Eagles scored the game's only goal at the 14:31 mark when Kevin Gorman (Annapolis, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) lined a shot from 18 yards out. The kick went off the E&H goalkeeper's hands and into the back of the net for a 1-0 Bridgewater lead.

The Eagles would not score again, but the offense kept the pressure on the Wasps throughout the game. Bridgewater held an 18-3 edge in shots and a 10-2 advantage on corner kicks.

Bridgewater goalkeeper Travis Morris (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished with two saves and recorded his second shutout in the past three contests.

The Eagles are now 2-5 overall and 1-0 in the ODAC. E&H drops to 1-4-1 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
