Box Score WINCHESTER, Va. - The Bridgewater College
Eagles battled Shenandoah University to a 2-2 tie Wednesday night
in non-conference women's soccer action.
The Eagles scored the lone goal in the first half to lead 1-0 at
the break. Freshman Alyssa Monninger
(Boonsboro, Md./Boonsboro) scored the first goal of her career to
give the Eagles the early lead.
Shenandoah tied the score early in the second half on Brittany
Butcher's goal and the Hornets took the lead, 2-1, in the 76th
minute on a goal by Jenna Kline.
The Hornets held the lead until the 83rd minute when
Bridgewater's Sara Taylor
(Chesterfield, Va./James River) tallied the tying goal off an
assist from Melanie Waters
(Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake Senior).
Both teams took three shots in the first overtime and the Eagles
held a 2-1 edge in shots in the second extra period, but neither
team could find the net for the winning goal.
The Eagles held a 19-15 edge in shots and a 7-5 advantage in
corners.
Bridgewater goalkeeper Shauna Manovich
(Front Royal, Va./Skyline) played the entire game and finished with
six saves.
