Guilford College Turns Away Eagles' Comeback, 16-11

BRIDGEWATER, Va - Bridgewater lacrosse could not catch Guilford College in today's ODAC conference game with a final score, 16-11.

Guilford took the lead early in the first half with two goals before Bridgewater answered back with three to take its first and only lead of the game.  The Quakers however would retain the lead with 13:46 left on the clock and never looked back.  At halftime, the Quakers lead 9-5.

The Eagles attempted a comeback, cutting the score to 13-11 with less than 15 minutes left in the second half, but Guilford could not be stopped at the goal.  They would win game, 16-11.

Kate Moulton lead the Eagles with three goals while Caitlin Costello, Leslie Crawford, and Mary Robinson each added two the Eagles' board.

Guilford's Hannah Merrell earned four goals for the Quakers with Emily Egan and Summer Frazier each with three.

Bridgewater goalkeeper Colleen Schwind had 12 saves.  For the Quakers, goalkeeper Alyzza-May Callahan had 13 saves.

Bridgewater is now 4-5 overall and 0-4 in the ODAC.  Guilford improves its record 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the ODAC.

Eagles lacrosse will be back in action on Thursday, March 25, 2010, when they travel to Randolph College.  Game time is set for 6:00 pm.
