HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Bridgewater's men's tennis
team wrapped up play in Hilton Head, S.C. with a 5-4 loss at the
hands of Baldwin-Wallace.
In singles action, the Eagles kept things even at a 3-3 tally
before dropping two doubles matches to lose by a 5-4 margin.
Freshman Peter Hawkins stayed hot with his fifth win in a row at
number two singles with a hard fought 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (11-9) victory
over Andy Redd.
Brad DeWitt was also victorious for BC with a 6-3, 6-1 win at
number three over Matt Lachman.
Sophomore Brent Floyd also remained unscathed in 2010 with a
three-set victory over Sam Burris.
In doubles play, the number one tandem of Chris Radke and DeWitt
won by an 8-2 margin.
Bridgewater is back in action on Tuesday, March 16 when the
squad travels to Randolph-Macon for an ODAC showdown with the
Yellow Jackets. Play begins at 3:00 p.m.
