Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. - Bridgewater College ran its
winning streak to six in a row Saturday evening with a 2-0 victory
over Guilford College in ODAC women's soccer action. The six-game
winning streak is the longest in program history.
The Eagles scored an early goal at the 13:55 mark to take the
lead for good. Brittney Harris
(Laurel, Md/Eleanor Roosevelt) headed the ball into the net off of
a long cross into the box from Abby Dehoff
(Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) for a 1-0 Bridgewater lead.
Bridgewater made it 2-0 at the 35:14 mark. After a takeaway, Melanie
Waters (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake Senior) beat the Guilford
keeper in a 1-on-1 situation from 12 yards out.
Eagles keeper Cari Hensley
(Danville, Va./George Washington) registered the shutout by
recording four saves in the contest. The shutout is the fifth this
season for the Eagles defense.
With the victory, the Eagles improve to 8-6-1 overall and 7-2 in
the ODAC. Bridgewater returns to action Wednesday afternoon when
its hosts Virginia Wesleyan in a 3:30 p.m. contest.
