"Dom Trawick is playing some very good basketball right now," BC
head coach Don Burgess said following the victory. "He hit some
tough shots today when we needed a basket to keep the lead. This
season, Dom is becoming a complete player. He's playing outstanding
defense and he's going to the boards and pulling down some big
rebounds. He's leading by example with his play and his effort."
George and Jessee each scored 17 points to lead the Tigers.
Hampden-Sydney's leading scorer, Turner King, was limited to just
seven points.
"I thought we did a great job on King who is an outstanding
player," Burgess said. "Justin Brake started the game on King and
really got after him. That's why he starts. Brake gives us great
intensity at the defensive end. Dom and Kordero Thompson also took
turns defending King and they both did a great job."
The victory puts the Eagles at 5-8 overall and 3-4 in the ODAC.
The Tigers drop to 6-9 overall and 2-5 in the conference.
"The first half we sat down and defended for 20 minutes and held
a team like Hampden-Sydney to 23 points. That's a huge effort,"
Burgess said. "We defended with intensity and we played smart on
the defensive end. If we're going to win, that's the way we need to
play."
The victory came in front of a large crowd during the BC
White-Out. "I really want to thank our fans for coming out. That
was a great crowd today."
