Bridgewater split two games on Sunday to finish with a 2-1
record in the USAS-ODAC Spring Challenge.
The Eagles lost in Sunday's first game,falling to Averett,
12-6.
Averett scored four times in the first and never trailed. Mitchell
Edwards was 2-4 with two RBIs and Kevin Kirk also added two hits
and four at-bats.
Sunday afternoon, senior John Sinclair and freshman Kevin Chandler
combined on a seven-hitter as the Eagles defeated N.C. Wesleyan,
6-3.
Sinclair went 6.2 innings and allowed two runs on six hits. He
struck out six and walked three. Chandler finished up and allowed
one run on one hit while striking out three and walking two.
Mike Lenox had a big game at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three
RBIs. Lenox belted a two-run homer in the fifth. Tyler Hodges and
Brad Buracker also added two hits each for the Eagles.
The Eagles, now 2-1, are back in action Thursday at Mary
Washington.
