Box Score RANDOLPH-MACON, Va. - On the heels of the
squad's first ODAC victory over the season on Tuesday, the
Bridgewater Eagles (6-4, 1-3 ODAC) field hockey team fell by a 5-0
score in ODAC action on the road at Randolph-Macon (1-8, 1-2
ODAC).
RMC got on the board early at the 4:58 mark when a Nicole Klee goal
put the Yellow Jackets up 1-0.
At the 26:52 mark, Mary McCarthy extended Randolph-Macon's lead off
a pass from Monica Jenkins to extend the team's lead to 2-0, which
is where things would stand as things headed to the
intermission.
Eighty-eight seconds into the second half, McCarthy would net her
second goal of the game to put RMC ahead 3-0.
Kendall Lam would tack on an additional insurance score at the 48
minute mark to add to the Randolph-Macon advantage, pushing the
score to 4-0.
Randolph-Macon would finalize the scoring at the 61:44 mark off a
goal by Caitlin Titsworth to push the score to 5-0, which is where
the game would end.
Bridgewater was outshot by a 27-11 margin.
Senior Elizabeth Sullivan picked up the loss for BC and allowed
five goals, while turning away 10 other RMC scoring attempts.
Bridgewater is back in action on Saturday when the team returns
home to take on Frostburg State. Action from Mapp Field is slated
for a 1:00 p.m. start.
