BRIDGEWATER, Va. - With less than four minutes left in the first half, freshman Brittany Harris took a pass from sophomore Meghan Groos and beat the Greensboro goalie to notch the lone goal of the afternoon as Bridgewater (1-0-1) defeated Greensboro by a 1-0 tally.

The goal for Harris was the first of the year for the Eagles and also marked the first career score for the freshman forward.

Bridgewater keeper Shauna Manovich recorded her first win and first shutout of the season by turning away four Greensboro scoring attempts.

Bridgewater outshot Greensboro in an offensive slugfest by a 17-16 margin.

In the corner kicks battle, BC edged Greensboro by a 2-1 tally.

The trio of Harris, Abby Dehoff and Krista Ready led the Eagles with three shots a piece.

Greensboro was led by a four shot outing from Melissa Torzewski.

Bridgewater is back in action on Sunday, Sept. 6 when the team wraps up the Bridgewater Invitational against Ferrum. The opening boot of tomorrow's game is slated for 4:30 p.m.
